God is merciful to all of God’s children and creation, good and bad: “And should I not be concerned about Nineveh, that great city, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand persons who do not know their right hand from their left, and also many animals? (Jonah 4:10)”
I adore the Lord’s Prayer.
If I were marooned on a desert island and could have only one piece of scripture, it would be the Lord’s prayer.
It contains everything a Christian needs for a healthy relationship with God, and for a deeply profound faith.
It is the most important thing Yeshua taught us.
To overthrow the power of Empire, finally and forever, we must act in completely opposing ways to Empire. Look at the non-violent campaign of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Look at the non-violent revolution of Ghandi. The Harvest of Righteousness was sown in peace… and it worked!
This is the truth of Universal Salvation, this is the truth of our purpose as Christians: we are to be the leaders of this final revolution against Empire.
10. Then the disciples came and asked him, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”
11. He answered, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.
12. For to those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance; but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.
“Enough!” my heart says.
“Enough!” my reason says.
“Enough!” my spirit says.
Those of us that perish before the Kingdom comes will be in “waiting”, and it is during this time that we will be judged according to our works while here in this earthly body for who will be best fit to work, and to best serve, and best agree for the age when God resurrects the First-Fruits of the Kingdom to help God facilitate it’s coming. This judgement is not for salvation (it is already accomplished)!
God willed that creation, the Law, society, human nature, and even life would be “futile”.
The Law cannot be accomplished of our own human volition.
Society always decays under the weight of empire and greed.
Human nature always succumbs to the evil fruits of fear and hate. (“Freedom Fries”, anyone?)
The curtain of life is drawn into the final act of death for every living creature. Death is the ultimate futility.
